SIGHT & HEARING MOBILE SCREENING UNIT
Chair: Charlie Harmon
Supports the upkeep, maintenance, and operations of the program and encourages Clubs to use the van(s) for sight and hearing screenings.

AWARDS

Responsible for reviewing the State Achievement Award forms and requirements each year and recommending any changes for the following year.


Global Membership Team – Retention and New Member Orientation. 
Chair: James V Cech
Supports member satisfaction efforts by providing clubs with guidance and resources to properly induct and instruct new Lions into our Service community.  To help retain current Lions by educating them as to the roles, responsibilities and activities at the Club, District and LCI level.
NORTHERN VIRGINIA MOBILE SIGHT AND HEARING
District Representative: Ralph Cooper
Represents the District Governor and Cabinet on the organization Board and serves on the District Cabinet. Make presentations to promote and increase use of the van, obtain and increase financial contributions, and enroll volunteers.
SOCIAL MEDIA
Chair: Tejas Patel
Assists Clubs in effectively using social media to share activities and attract members. 




 
BLAND MUSIC SCHOLARSHIP COMPETITION
President: Shirley Wilson, PCC
As part of the Board of the Bland Music Scholarship Foundation, is responsible for the administration of the statewide program. Also oversees Bland contests within the District and organizes the District contest.

Encourages use of technology. Coordinates production and distribution of website and Paw Prints newsletter.

OFFICER TRAINING

Plans and executes annual new Club officer training and encourages participation in training throughout the year.


SPECIAL NEEDS EQUIPMENT
Chair: Sharon Hart, PCC
Responds to requests from people with visual and hearing impairments and coordinates requests for assistance with local Clubs.


BUDGET

Works with the District Governor to establish a proposed budget for the year, which is approved by the Cabinet at the first meeting of the year.
INTERNATIONAL CONVENTION
Chair: Glen Logan, DG
Keeps membership updated on the International Convention and encourages attendance.
OLD DOMINION EYE FOUNDATION
Chair: Emily Carnes Fields, PDG
Coordinates activities and promotes awareness of ODEF and the importance of being an organ donor. Encourages financial support.
STAMPS FOR THE WOUNDED
Chairs: Mary Probst and Nancy Volpe
Collects canceled postage stamps in response to a 1942 appeal from the Armed Services Hospitals.

CANINE COMPANIONS FOR INDEPENDENCE
Chairs: Jim and Michele Purton
Coordinates activities and promotes awareness of Lions Project for Canine Companions for Independence programs to clubs and individuals in the District and encourages financial support.

INTERNATIONAL DISTRICT CHAIR
James V Cech and Vicki Davis
Supports the District Governor and MD Lead for LCIF by interfacing with Club LCIF Coordinators and Zone Chairpersons to educate Clubs about LCIF Global efforts, to support Clubs applying for LCIF grants, and to encourage Club and individual support and participation in LCIF fundraising efforts.
PARLIAMENTARIAN
Chairs: Don Colley, PCC and Harry Parker, PCC
Ensures the adherence to Robert’s Rules of Order at all District meetings, oversees other protocol, and encourages courteous behavior.


STATE CONVENTION
Chair: Harry Parker, PCC
Ensures all Clubs receive information and assists Clubs in participation.





CHAPLAIN
Chair: James Christiansen, PDG
Performs the Invocations and Benedictions at all District functions, and arranges for memorial services for Lions that have passed within the last year.
INTERNATIONAL LIAISON
Chairs: Roy Wilson, PID
Keeps membership updated about International Relations, encourages Clubs to both visit and “twin” with Clubs in other countries, and encourages participation in Lions Day at the United Nations.
PEACE POSTER CONTEST
Chairs: Sandra Morris and Jeff Root
Coordinates District efforts and works with school art teachers to challenge young people to think about peace and express what it means to them.

VIRGINIA LIONS HEARING AID BANK FOUNDATION

Collects used hearing aids and provides new and refurbished hearing aids to those who need but cannot afford them.
